UPCOMING AUDITIONS

The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and Edo de Waart, Music Director, announce auditions for the following positions:

ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL/SECOND OBOE

Audition to be held in October/November, 2013. 

Highly qualified candidates should email a one-page resume by September 3, 2013 to: Rip Prétat at auditions@mso.org. 

The starting date for this position is September, 2014.  Minimum Assistant Principal compensation for the 2014-2015 season is $68,090.

The Audition Committee of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra reserves the right to dismiss immediately any candidate not meeting the highest professional standards at these auditions.
 

SUBSTITUTE AND EXTRA MUSICIAN AUDITIONS

The Milwaukee Symphony generally holds auditions for Substitute and Extra musicians every other year.  Sub auditions are scheduled to take place in the fall of 2013, and will include all instruments. 

If you would like to apply to audition at the 2013 sub auditions, please send a one-page resumé to auditions@mso.org by September 30, 2013.

The repertoire for each instrument is listed on the Repertoire for Substitute & Extra Musician Auditions page.

Please note that the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra rarely hires substitute musicians who do not live within a 100 mile radius of Milwaukee. Acceptance to the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra's Substitute and Extra list does not guarantee employment with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra.
