Orchestra Auditions:

The MSO announces auditions for the following positions:

PRINCIPAL HORN

Auditions to be held on October 3 & 4, 2010.

ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL PERCUSSION

Auditions to be held on November 8 & 9, 2010.

Highly qualified candidates should email a one-page resume by September 1, 2010 to: auditions@mso.org.

The Audition Committee of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra reserves the right to dismiss immediately any candidate not meeting the highest professional standards at these auditions.

Sub Auditions:

The Milwaukee Symphony holds auditions for Substitute and Extra musicians every other year. The next auditions to include all instruments are scheduled for fall of 2011. However, sub auditions for clarinet and bassoon will be held in November, 2010.  The deadline for application for the 2010 clarinet and bassoon sub auditions is September 30, 2010. The repertoire for each instrument is listed on the Repertoire for Substitute & Extra Musician Auditions page.

Please note that the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra rarely hires substitute musicians who do not live within a 100 mile radius of Milwaukee. Acceptance to the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra's Substitute and Extra list does not guarantee employment with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra.
