Main responsibilities include:

  • Assist the Director of Development-Institutional Support in the overall planning, fundraising, goal-setting and implementation of corporate fundraising strategy.
  • Create, direct and implement — with the assistance of the development staff — a comprehensive funding strategy for acquiring, maintaining and upgrading corporate donations for general operations, concert sponsorship and educational programs.
  • Manage a portfolio of 100-150 corporate prospects targeted for gifts of $5,000-$250,000+ to the MSO’s annual campaign, with the goal of increasing support from this division.
  • Write all corporate presentation materials, proposals, solicitation letters and reports; and maintain an effective calendar that ensures all proposal and report deadlines are met.
  • Develop, implement and track specific sponsorship benefit packages that involve and retain new and current corporate donors.

Education and/or Experience: This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline — English, Communications or Journalism preferred — and a minimum of five years work experience, ideally in non-profit development. Successful experience in obtaining corporate/foundation support and government grants preferred.
