Helen Reich

Helen Reich joined the MSO viola section in 1988. A native of New Jersey, she attended Juilliard Pre-College throughout her high school years and spent her college education at Indiana University. She attended graduate school at both Cleveland Institute of Music and Syracuse University, and has been a member of orchestras in Syracuse, Fort Worth, Sacramento, and Caracas.

A founding member of the now-defunct baroque chamber music ensemble, Bach Babes, Ms. Reich has performed some of the most interesting new fusion music with the Jason Seed Elixir Ensemble. In February 2011, she released the critically acclaimed new CD, “The Escapist," as part of the Jason Seed Stringtet, joining MSO members Glenn Asch and Scott Tisdel, Chicago Symphony Orchestra members Dan Armstrong and Hermine Gagne, and guitarist-composer Jason Seed.
