EVENT DETAILS

In partnership with Marcus Theatres Corporation and Fox Searchlight Pictures, the MSO presents a free movie screening of Chevalier – a thrilling look at the untold life of 18th century French composer Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-George, whose groundbreaking legacy was nearly erased from history due to the color of his skin. Featuring lavish period sets, vibrant costumes, sweeping romance, and spectacular music, audiences will be inspired by the legend of this real historical figure who stood up to the French aristocracy, defied their rules, and blazed his own path.

This general admission event is open to the public but requires reserving tickets through mso.org.

Onsite donations will be accepted in support of Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra (MYSO). Founded in 1956, MYSO now serves 900 students from more than 200 schools in 14 counties in the region through more than 40 ensemble and enrichment options. MYSO never turns away a student in financial need -- a commitment your gift makes possible.

Your donation provides financial aid for youths who lack equitable access to music education and ensembles, supporting membership fees, private lessons, summer camps, instrument support, and more. MYSO students, 50% of whom are youths of color, receive beginning through advanced training in strings, winds, brass, percussion, jazz studies, steel pan, symphonies, string orchestras, bands, music theory, composition, and international touring.

This event is presented with additional support from Delta Dental of Wisconsin and an anonymous donor.
