CONCERT DETAILS

Franck’s most endearing work is his symphony, though its legacy took some time — the French found it “too German,” critics found it too modern (including the “unthinkable” use of English horn). Luckily for us, audiences soon warmed to its genius. Edgar Moreau brings “angelic purity of tuning and impeccable fast finger-work” (The Telegraph) to the impassioned cello concerto by Édouard Lalo, rounding out this delightful French program.
