The phenomenal long-standing jazz partnership of the Marcus Roberts Trio shines in our Pops season opener, featuring tributes to the great 20th-century composer George Gershwin. Vocalist Tatiana Mayfield performs favorite jazz standards like ’S Wonderful and Fascinating Rhythm, plus the orchestra presents highlights from one of America’s favorite operas, Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess. The Marcus Roberts Trio then joins the MSO for an unforgettable rendition of Rhapsody in Blue.
