
Bach Double Violin Competition
general information
The annual MSO Bach Double Violin Competition is open to all violinists in 8th grade and younger. Violinists must perform either part one or part two of the first movement of J.S. Bach’s Concerto in D minor, BWV 1043. An accompanist is provided by the MSO. Four to eight winners are chosen and given the opportunity to perform with the Milwaukee Symphony at the 3rd Grade ACE concert on April 26, 2023.
Please note: Previous winners must audition on the opposite part. Those who have performed both parts with the MSO are ineligible to apply.
Details regarding the 2024 MSO Bach Double Violin Competition will be forthcoming, please stay tuned for more information.
2023 COMPETITION WINNERS
The 2023 Competition was held on February 11, 2023 at the First Congregational Church in Wauwatosa. Winners will have the opportunity to perform with the Milwaukee Symphony on the 3rd Grade ACE Concert on April 26, 2023.Congratulations to all our winners and participants!
Please note: Winners must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or negative COVID-19 test result in order to rehearse and perform with the orchestra.
