Dean Borghesani was awarded the position of principal timpanist of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra in June of 2000. Before joining the Milwaukee Symphony, he was the timpanist of the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra and the Washington Chamber Symphony. Mr. Borghesani has performed in principal capacity with the National Symphony Orchestra and the Kennedy Center Opera House orchestra. While living in the D.C. area, he performed in touring productions of Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Dream Girls, and Cats. He also is an active clinician and lecturer on Orchestral Audition Practices. Mr. Borghesani’s teachers have included Garwood Whaley, Jonathan Haas, Charles Wilkinson, Fred Begun, Cloyd Duff, Dwight Thomas, and Ben Herman. Dean Borghesani also teaches at the UW-Milwaukee Peck School of the Arts.
