Jennifer Bouton Schaub
Jennifer Bouton Schaub, flute and piccolo, joined the Milwaukee Symphony in the fall of 2011, following three seasons with the Virginia Symphony. Prior to her appointment with the VSO, Ms. Schaub performed regularly with the Pittsburgh Opera Theater, Akron Symphony, Colorado Ballet, Colorado Symphony, Albany Symphony, Central City Opera, and the Washington DC Summer Opera Theater Company, among others.
She has participated in numerous American and international festivals, including the National Repertory Orchestra, Aspen Music Festival (Piccolo Fellowship), Sunflower Music Festival, AIMS Summer Festival Orchestra in Graz, Austria; the Internationale Meisterkurze für Musik in Zurich, Switzerland; and the ARIA International Summer Music Festival, in London, Ontario.
Ms. Schaub received a Master of Music degree and Certificate in Advanced Flute Studies from Carnegie Mellon University, and a Bachelor of Music degree from the Peabody Conservatory. Her teachers include Jeanne Baxtresser, Alberto Almarza, Marina Piccinini, and Pamela Endsley, as well as summer studies with Nadine Asin, Mark Sparks, Leone Buyse, Walfrid Kujala, and Bonita Boyd. Recent projects include assisting Jeanne Baxtresser, former principal flute of the New York Philharmonic, with the publication of the new revised edition of Ms. Baxtresser's classic book, Orchestral Excerpts for Flute (Presser), and a performance at the 2012 National Flute Association Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada.
