Jennifer Startt joined the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra 1990 and became the orchestraʼs principal second violin in 2008. She has appeared as soloist with the MSO on numerous occasions in Milwaukee and throughout the state. Ms. Startt is a member of the Peninsula Music Festival Orchestra in Door County and is an active chamber musician, private teacher, and coach.
Ms. Startt is a graduate of the Interlochen Arts Academy and the Curtis Institute of Music, where she was a student of Aaron Rosand. Additionally, she studied violin with Linda Cerone and Robert Lipsett, as well as chamber music with Felix Galimir, Jascha Brodsky, and Orlando Cole.
A founding member of the New World Symphony (Miami, Florida), she worked extensively with conductor Michael Tilson Thomas, traveling to Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, and France with that orchestra. Prior to joining the Milwaukee Symphony she was a member of the Florida and Buffalo philharmonics.
