CONCERT DETAILS
Our Voice Milwaukee kicks off Season 16 with its holiday concert at the Bradley Symphony Center for the first time on Saturday, December 5, for one night only.
Has holiday commercialism gotten a hold of you? Hallmarked Homos: Unwrapping What Matters invites audiences to look beyond the seasonal hoopla and consider where they find what they value most. Yes, the holidays can be loud, joyful and delightfully over-the-top. But what if the most important things aren’t the loudest? Through music, humor and a distinctly queer perspective, OVM’s holiday embrace will lift your spirits, entertain you and remind you that you belong.
The evening features familiar holiday favorites, amusing takes on Christmas classics, local singers and instrumentalists throughout the performance, plus the first-ever performance of Johnny Marks's After the Holidays, in a never before heard arrangement by Eric Knechtges, commissioned for Our Voice Milwaukee.
As a community chorus, Our Voice Milwaukee creates a welcoming space for LGBTQIA+ people to connect through meaningful musical experiences, while sharing that spirit of belonging with the broader community through music and engagement. Now entering its 16th season, OVM has grown substantially since returning to live performance, becoming a vibrant, multigenerational chorus that reflects Milwaukee’s diverse LGBTQIA+ community. Its first performance at the Bradley Symphony Center marks an exciting new chapter in that growth.
