This year, all gifts made on #GivingTuesday will go to support the MSO’s education and community programs, including our newest initiative, the Lullaby Project. In partnership with Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute, pregnant women and new mothers are invited to create and record personal lullabies for their babies with the help of professional musicians. Now in its second year at the MSO, the Lullaby Project confirms and broadens the MSO’s commitment to providing life-changing musical experiences to the entire Milwaukee community.

Now in its seventh year, #GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. Observed on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many people focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving. It provides a platform for them to encourage the donation of time, resources and talents to address local challenges.
Together, let’s harness the potential of social media and the generosity of people around the world to bring about real change in their communities.

The MSO has partnered locally with Sojourner Family Peace Center to provide life-changing musical experiences to the mothers and families served. Take a peek behind-the-scenes to see our participants’ lullabies as they are arranged, performed for their families, and recorded professionally with MSO musicians, giving these strong mothers and their children a truly transformative musical experience as a part of their journey towards wellness.
